TESTING OUT
“Testing Out” in the Michigan Merit Curriculum is an option to demonstrate that a student meets or exceeds the content expectations associated with the subject credit area. A student may not test out to better a grade already earned. Letter grades are not listed on transcripts - only Credit (CR) if the test is passed.
Reasons for testing out include:
1) To gain credit (CR) in a class to meet graduation requirements or advance to a higher level in the curriculum
2) To gain credit (CR) in a course failed. Once a student has successfully Tested Out of a course, they may not take the same course (i.e. specifically physical education course, band, music) during the school year.
Opportunities for testing Out of specific courses will be available in June, August, and December.
Specific dates for each subject are currently TBD.
*You must bring a charged Chromebook or Laptop computer; you may not use your phone or tablet.
