Excellence and Equity in Education
Discovery Elementary Families,
We are thrilled to welcome you to a brand-new school year filled with promise and potential. At Discovery Elementary, we know we all belong and are valued. We are a community united by our shared goal to learn and achieve new and challenging ideas. Our dedication to this mission ensures that everyone can confidently say, "I see myself and others in my learning."
Your student’s well-being is at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to create an environment where you feel cared for, supported, and heard. We believe in empowering you with the skills and confidence needed to positively influence your community. Together, we'll foster a learning environment where each one of us is motivated and inspired.
Thank you for joining us on this exciting journey. Your commitment to growth and discovery makes our school a remarkable place to learn and thrive. Here's to a fantastic year at Discovery Elementary!
With warm regards,
Mr. Blair Feldkamp
Principal of Discovery Elementary School
We strive to touch the lives of children in a way that prepares them to take their place as citizens with high academic skills and fine moral character.
Discovery staff will have high expectations for all.
The school will be a place where:
If you are bringing your student in late, please make sure you come into the office to sign them in so we know your child is safe and accounted for.
If your student will be absent for any reason please make sure you let the office know so we can account for the absence. P: 616-871-1081
If there will be a change in your student’s dismissal plan, please let the office know by 3:00 at the latest, so we have adequate time to get the message to teachers.
If you have gently used shorts or pants (size 6 and up) that you would like to donate to Discovery, we will gladly take them! We are in desperate need of larger sizes for boys—8-14.
Please be sure our crosswalks are kept clear of all vehicles so our families can walk across securely. If you drive a high profile vehicle, please watch carefully for our younger students who may be below your line of vision.
