Parent Involvement
Parent/Teacher Council (PTC)
Discovery has a very active PTC (Parent/Teacher Council) that supports many activities here at Discovery such as:
- Fundraising
- Discovery Carnival
- Field Trips (Supporting Kentwood Public Schools Curriculum)
- Annual Father/Daughter Dance
- Annual Mother/Son Night
- Grandparents Day
- Mileage Spring Running/Walking Club
- Popcorn Day
Other Activities and Programs at Discovery include:
- Discovery Elementary houses the district PEAKS program (Parents, Educators, and Kids = Success) which offers an option for academically talented students who prefer an alternative to the traditional learning environment.
- ARCH after school program
- PBIS (Positive Behavior Incentive System)
- Jump Rope for Heart
- Annual Talent Show
- Discovery Field Day and Picnic
- District-Wide Fifth Grade Track and Field Competition
