EK Middle College

East Kentwood Middle College

WE ARE EXCITED TO SHARE A NEW LEARNING OPPORTUNITY AT EAST KENTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL.  IN COLLABORATION WITH GRAND RAPIDS COMMUNITY COLLEGE, WE WILL BE OFFERING A MIDDLE COLLEGE PROGRAM.

The East Kentwood Middle College (EKMC) is a unique educational opportunity that will allow students to graduate with a high school diploma, transferable college credits and an Associate of Arts degree starting in 10th grade. An Associate of Arts degree consists of general studies type courses; it is not an art degree. The EKMC is designed to prepare students for postsecondary study and/or employment.

Purpose:  EKMC will provide an educational opportunity to students who have a genuine interest in college preparedness. Potential candidates must be willing and able to succeed at the college level, starting as a 10th grade student and continuing through an additional year beyond 12th grade.

Current East Kentwood 9th grade students and parents are invited to attend one of the upcoming Middle College Informational Meetings.

When:
December 11, 2019 OR January 15, 2020 at 7 p.m..
The meeting will include a brief  30 minute overview of the East Kentwood Middle College Program and then allow time for a question and answer session.
