Discovery Elementary houses the district P.E.A.K.S. (Parents, Educators, and Kids = Success) program which offers an option for academically talented students who prefer an alternative to the traditional learning environment.

Discovery has a very active PTC (Parent/Teacher Council) that supports many activities here at Discovery such as:

  • Fundraising
  • Discovery Carnival
  • Field Trips (Supporting Kentwood Public Schools Curriculum)
  • Annual Father/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son Night
  • Mileage Spring Running/Walking Club
  • Popcorn Day

  • "Jump Rope for Heart" Program
  • Annual Talent Show
  • Discovery Field Day and Picnic
  • District-Wide Fifth Grade Track and Field Competition
  • Discovery Science Club

  • IMPACT Program to support Gifted & Talented
  • Odyssey of the Mind program for students in grades 3 -5
  • Young Authors (when offered)
  • Good Character Traits-Monthly Themes with Lunch with the Principal
  • Writing to a "Tea" sharing with Mrs. McNally
  • Junior Achievement
  • Mobile Dentist Visits
  • Playground Mentors
