Welcome to the Principal's Page

Our motto here at Crossroads is that "All students are honored students." It is with respect, humility and a kind heart that I serve approximately 250 students in the Crossroads Alternative Education program, the Life Learning Program and the Alternative Education Placement Program here in Kentwood. This is my 8th year at Kentwood Schools.  There is no better place to work!  Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to sincerely capturing kids hearts, Crossroads attains among the highest Michigan Merit Exam and ACT composite scores of any alternative education program in the State of Michigan.  We have a safe, nurturing and respectful environment.  Students are learning how to be responsible, positive contributors in our community by virtue of the many community service projects in which they are engaged.  Each year, more and more of our students leave Crossroads having earned college scholarship financial assistance based on merit.

My name is Brian O'Hara.  I serve as the Director of Community Education as well as the Principal at Crossroads.  The 2011-2012 school year starts my 28th year of service to Michigan public schools.  I welcome a visit, e-mail communication at Brian.OHara@kentwoodps.org or phone call at 616-261-6166 to discuss our program and/or to discuss the success and future of your child if they are enrolled here at Crossroads.  Thank you for allowing me to be part of your child's future.  Enjoy our web presence and keep looking for updates as we integrate technology with an eye toward helping prepare our students for an ever changing work world.  Some of my favorite links can be found below:
