The 2011-2012 school year is winding down with only a few weeks left.  Without a doubt in my mind, I feel this has been our best school year ever.  The following is evidence to support my claim:

Ø      Crestwood made AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress).

Ø      Over 55% of our students have a 3.0 GPA for the year.

Ø      80% of our students received recognition for perfect behavior.

Ø      Odyssey of the Mind made it to the State Finals.

Ø      Mwangi Wa-Maina made it to the National Spelling Bee competition in Washington DC.

Ø      Our Art program won 7 out of 15 prizes including 1^st place in a county wide “No-Smoking” poster contest.

Ø      Crestwood Arts and Athletics all represented Crestwood very well.

The above mentioned is only a small percentage of our daily successes here at Crestwood.  During the summer break, I encourage all our Crestwood students to read at least three books.  Research has shown that simply reading for pleasure will increase a student’s reading level and vocabulary.  In addition to that, make sure you make time for your loved ones and friends.  Have a great summer and be safe.  We will see you in the Fall of 2012.
